So we went to church at the local ward that meets where the
temple is because we would have had to travel back to Frankfurt to attend the
international branch. We’ve noticed that most people’s English here is pretty
amazing whether it’s understanding it or speaking. Plus we don’t mind hearing
the gospel in a different language because the Holy Ghost speaks one
language….truth. And as long as truth was being taught we would be able to
understand what was happening. Even though it wasn’t that actual international
ward it sure seemed like it. When
we first walked in the building we met a young man from Venezuela who also
didn’t speak German. We met two missionaries from the U.S. and the girl who translated
for us during Sacrament meeting has a German father and an American mother.
There was at least one other American that was a regular member that could
speak German. There were also French members that were married to Germans. So
we weren’t too out of place. We met some very nice people and felt very welcome
there. We were blessed to get a
ride from a member to the train station after church. (I say blessed because
two days prior we had to walk about 2 miles with two suitcases, 3 bags and 2
toddlers from the station to the temple!) From that point our trip to Fuessen,
the home of some very famous castles, began.
