On to Fuessen: The magic begins

We had a 5-hour train ride from Friedrichsdorf to Fussen. Kenya was so excited because she wanted to see these real life castles. It was so cute how excited she was, but sometimes quite out of control. It was Lois and the girls’ first time riding a train (other than subways) and it was awesome! The sights were beautiful; all covered in snow. The trains were pretty nice too. Once we got to Fussen we took a taxi to our amazing hotel and the drive up to it was something out of a fairytale. We could see two castles in the night light getting closer and closer. Kenya was so giddy and in awe about the magical feeling as we were getting closer to our hotel. Lois was just as giddy! Ok…so was I! We didn’t realize the hotel was so close to the castles and when we got to our room we realized that all 3 windows had a fantastic view of the castles. To top off our day we had, seriously, one of the most delicious 3 course dinners ever!! It truly was magical and that was the first few hours of being there!

The sun setting while we were on the train.

The Hohenschwangau Castle

The other castle.

Our first dinner on Sunday night.  You can see in the back out the window the Hohenschwangau Castle and there was a view of the other castle through a different window.
