The next day we got kind of a slow start.  We all needed a little extra rest.  We left the hotel at 11:00 while it was snowing and went to see the sites in Frankfurt.  People here tell us that there is not much to see in Frankfurt but we enjoyed ourselves.  Our hotel was within walking distance from downtown and all of the sites.  We saw many different churches built ranging from the 1200’s to the 1800’s.  It was amazing to be able to see things so old.  We entered two of the churches.   What I absolutely loved about these churches is that they are still used for worship services each week.   Each of the churches had pamphlets in a few different languages (including English of course) that explained about the church’s history.

This is a great picture I think!  It has the old building on the right and then the new world on the left.  It was awesome to see.  We were told that Frankfurt is really the only city in Germany with sky scrapers.  It is the business city in Germany.

Robert loved this of course.  We think it might have been like a plaque or tomb on a Bishop that was at this church.

We walked over the Main River and on the bridge were padlocks locks with people initials on them.  It appeared that it was a lover’s thing to do because most of them had couples names on them.  While we were on the bridge we saw a couple looking for and then find their lock.  It was fun to see.

 We spent all afternoon walking around (11-3) and Kenya was a trooper!  She walked the entire time! We had lunch at what seemed to be a farmers market right in down town.  We got some yummy sausages for lunch.  Then we headed back to Freidrichsdorf, where the temple was to stay in the dorms there.
