Music in the Park/ Then and Now

This is Kenya on the day she came home from the hospital.

This is a picture taken just moments ago in the same outfit. The exact same outfit.

See, I told you she has grown!!!

These next two are at Smith Park here in Rexburg on Thursday evening. There are free concerts for the summer. It was nice for most of it, but then we ended up leaving a little bit early because the famous Rexburg wind picked up and it was threatening to rain. All in all, it was a fun experience and we might go a few more time this summer.

Don't mind the weird proportion of my belly in this shot. This little carrier is great! THANKS CAREY'S!!

BBQ Season and Weekend Visitors

The end of last week we had some really nice weather (it was a little too hot though). It definitely was BBQ time. On Saturday we have BBQ for lunch and dinner. It was great!
For lunch we had some friends over and grilled chicken. It was the first time I had done that and surprisingly, it turned out well. YUM YUM!
Then that evening Cheri and her kids came over from Boise and Kira came too. So, when they got here it was burgers and dogs.
Then Sunday we went to a friends house for another BBQ! I sure do love grilling. BBQ's are one of the best parts of summer.

Here are a few picture of our visitors.

These are Cheri's boys: Matt, Sam and AJ

All the girls: Me, Kenya, Cheri and Sara, Kira and Rachel (Cheri's Daughter)

Cute picture of Rachel, Kenya and Kira.

Thanks for coming guys it was fun!

Kenya has now met all of her cousins but two. Alyxana and Jayde, we will meet you at pig fest in June. Can't wait!!!

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!

Today, Robert enjoyed some quality time with his daughter, while I enjoyed some alone time. Robert had an appointment set up for me at the day spa here in Rexburg. He dropped me off and did not even tell me what I was there for. So, when I got inside I asked them and they told me it was a full hour massage and a pedicure. I was at the spa for just over 2 hours and loved it!!
This was my Mother's day gift from him! LOVED IT!!
Thank you, Robert!! I love you so much!!!

Kenya's Dance Moves!

In this video Lois is trying to get Kenya to smile like normal, but she knows when the camera is running so she doesn't smile! However, Kenya does give some sweet action shots! Note how Kenya doesn't do anything Lois asks her to! Ha! Ha! Ha!

The many faces of Kenya

Here are some more photos! Kenya has begun to be more interactive and she makes more faces than before!
This is on Lois's first Mother's Day.
One of our favorites!!

diapers.com

So, I have begun to order diapers and things (like gas drops) off of diapers.com because it is a little bit cheaper than going to Wal-Mart. Also, if your order is more than $49 (before your discounts) shipping is free. They have everything you could think of and if you just order it all together it really does become A LOT cheaper than going to the store. Shipping is only 1-2 days too! They take manufacturers coupons and also have other great discounts. Anyone who wants to try it enter this code (a referral from me) and you will get $10 0ff and I will get $5 off my next purchase. Once you sign up too you can refer your fiends and get tons of savings!! It is awesome because you get a great discount and will continue to save when you get your own referral code. SO, just try it out and I know you will love it! Here's the code to enter at check out.

All smiles

Kenya's big day.

Today Kenya got her first round of shots. One oral, two in her right leg and one in her left. Her pain from that was brief as far as we could tell. She cried from being held on the table, but once they were done and I picked her up she stopped crying. We gave her some Tylenol about 10 minutes before the shots and I am sure that helped (thanks for the tip Julia). So, then why is it that she cried in pain some much about 2 hours after her shots. I am confident it was because she hadn't pooped in over two days and she was trying to work it out. I could tell because all she wanted to do is nurse for comfort and even then she would stop nursing and I could she and feel her pushing to try and get her poops out. After a short time and probably the most I have heard her cry she fell a sleep for an hour or so. Then when she woke up she pooped. AND BOY DID SHE!!! She had her first blow out. It come out the front on her stomach and also out the back. Now, she is happy Kenya again.

Also, this morning was her first time being caught on camera smiling. It is on my cell phone, so the quality is not very good. For about the last week I have been able to get her to smile at me. She is smiling everyday a little bit more frequently. What a great baby!

More of Kenya

I am holding Kenya just after getting her ready for the day. She's a cute outfit from Leonna Obedowski. Thank you so much, Leonna! We think you have some pretty good taste in baby clothing!

Here is Robert holding Kenya after a bath. How Cute!

Trouble with photos

So, really stayed tuned. I have been trying to post photos like I promised, but I think that same filter on our computer is distorting them. When they upload they are scrambled. So, I am working on getting that fixed and then I can post those cute photos of Kenya.

6 or more hours

Well, the last 2 nights Kenya has slept more than 6 hours each night. On Wednesday night she slept from about 11:30 pm till 6:15 am. Then last night she slept from just before midnight till just 6 am (I think). At not quite 7 weeks old Kenya is doing amazing! Thank you, thank you for all your support and prayers that are helping us and making the life transition of having a baby go very smooth.

Robert has started an internship here in Rexburg as of Monday. He is working for a venture capital company. It is a paid internship (YES!) and is a minimum of 25 hours a week. He is also taking one online history class. So, although he is not a full time student anymore he will still be plenty busy. Most of his work will be from home because his internship is a lot of research which will be done on the computer. I am so excited to have him at home, even if a large chunk of the day he is on the computer working. He is able to see and be with Kenya more like he wanted!

We are loving life and enjoy Kenya! I will try to do better at taking and posting pictures of her. (I have had complains from family (Kira) about not seeing many pictures.)

Congrats to the Carey's on their new arrival Irelynn and to the Norris's with their baby girl Liv who were both born this week! The world had a lot more girls in it after these last couple of weeks. At least it seems that way to me.

Then and Now photo

Here is a cute photo of Kenya looking at her mobile. She is getting a little bit better at sleeping in her bassinet by herself. Each day she is letting me have a little more time of setting her alone to look around and explore the world. She is smile a little more everyday too! Today when we went on a walk I stopped to talk to her and when our eyes met she smiled at me. SO CUTE!

Here is a picture of her in the bear outfit just 2-3 days after she was born.

Here is a picture of her just a few days ago in the same outfit.

Easter Photos

I hope everyone enjoys these because they had to be uploaded one by one.
Kenya in her Easter/Blessing dress! SOO cute, even if the face she is making is a little weird.
Kenya has done this since she was about 1 week old. She gives her daddy kisses. She will kiss other people too, but most consistently she kissed her daddy!

This is my brother Aaron and his some Harmon. He is giving her "smoochy." It may look like he is eating her, but he was being really nice!!

Here is Robert's generation photo. Great Grandma Williams (Young), Grandma Carla Draper, Daddy (Robert), daughter (Kenya).

Our family Easter photo! AHHHHH....

Easter Weekend

AND OF COARSE I AM NOT ABLE TO GET MY PICTURES TO UPLOAD. It might be some new software Robert has put on the computer. I will try to figure it out to get pictures of Kenya posted. Sorry, or the delay.

Well, the Draper gang arrived on Thursday evening and we met them in Idaho Falls for yummy Chinese Buffet and by the time we finished that we were all exhausted and came home and went right to bed.
Then on Friday we did the graduation thing and that evening just hung around. I made my mom's famous pizza for dinner and we all enjoyed that.
Saturday we got a late start, but we went to the Teton dam and then tried to go to Mesa Falls. The road was blocked with snow just south of the falls and so we did not get to see them. There was plenty of fun playing in the snow though. That night we BBQ burgers and dogs and played games. Aaron and Kelsey were able to make it at about 8pm. Then we had a somewhat early night because we needed to be up and ready for the blessing the next day.
Sunday was great!! Robert blessed Kenya and it was wonderful. Aaron, former Bishop Garth Hall, Bishop Mike Murray, Cody Bailey and Robert were the ones who participated in the blessing. Kenya was beautiful and was quite the whole time. SHE IS AN AMAZING BABY!!! After the first part of church all of us came home except for Robert who needed to stay because he was needed in Elders Quorum the last hour. After coloring eggs we walked to Porter Park where James and Robert were hiding Easter eggs. Michelle, Christine, Tia and I then hunted for them at the park. That was fun! We had dinner when we got home and played games the rest of the night.
Everyone left EARLY Monday morning. (Some earlier than other...) It took us (Kenya and I) about 2 days to recover, but we are doing great now. We just needed a little rest.

Here are some pictures of Kenya in her Easter dress that her daddy picked out for her. Great eye dad!!!

Here is Kenya with her cousin Harmon Evans. He is a big boy and we think he will protect her because she does not have a big brother. Harmon is only about 5 1/2 months old. He is the giant that was born on my birthday last year.

On Wednesday we had our 6 weeks check up. I am doing great still and Kenya is fine. She is now 7 lbs and 21 inches. The doctor is not too worried about her weight, but is wanting her to come back in 1 month to check on her. Her head has grown 3/4 of an inch as well.

That's all the updates!

Excitment and visitors

We are very excited as Robert finishes up this semester on Thursday!! Really, he is close to being done already. I am busy getting ready for family and friends to come and visit.
Robert's family is coming in on Thursday night! We are so excited all of his family is going to be able to make it.
Some of my family might be able to make it for the blessing as well. If they come it will be my parents, brother Aaron and his family and maybe my sister Cheri and her family. It would be a full house, but I am looking forward to the excitement!
I hope to see anyone who can make it in Sunday. I am cooking a yummy Ester dinner too!

Curly Sue

Here is Kenya last night after the first time her dad bathed her. She is still cute as ever!!!
Kenya cuddling her dad while mom showered the other day! These two make a great pair. What a proud daddy Robert is.

So, these next three pictures are to show that Kenya really does have curly hair. Before I ever gave her her first bath we thought it was odd that she had straight hair. Well, when it is wet it is definitely curly, as seen below. Her hair is so fine that when it dries it goes straight.

Kenya had a weight check on Wednesday and is up to 6 pounds and 14 ounces. Although I think she is just getting longer and not thicker at lot. Grow little one grow.
