Christmas tree hunt.

Robert took Monday off this week and we joined some friends, the Begays on a Christmas tree hunt. We went out past Kelley Canyon. We got to put the chains on our car for the first time ever too. They worked great! Thanks again Charles for all your help!

It was a great family activity and of course Kenya loved the snow. She played with their little girl Lydia and had tons of fun!

Jasmin joined us for about the first 30 minutes outside. It was SO cold. The forecast said that it was only suppose to get in the teens that day. In the sun it wasn't so bad, but standing in the shade it was so cold! Jasmin fell asleep and so then I put her in the car while we got the tree and you guessed it, she slept.

Kenya made herself a sled by sliding down on her snow pants. We did not even mention it to her, she just figured it out and did it. What a smart girl we have. She had a blast playing with her friend in the snow.

A funny story goes along with this next picture. Our friend Charles threw the saw from at least 50 feet up the hill just to get it down. We all watched in amazement as it bounced a few times in front of the tree and then stuck in the branch like this! TOO cool!

So when we got the tree home we did not love it so much. After Robert cut 2 more feet off at home the fullness of the tree did not see so great. All of the tree in the Idaho "forest" were bare. So, this tree looked great compared to all the other trees out in the forest, but really it is still not as wonderful as we once thought. It will do and the permit only cost $10 so that is just fine with us! It is the experience that we wanted and like! Maybe once we get our decorations on our tree it will look better. We will have to post picture later. (Our decoration are still in at my mom's house in Montana.) It was a great day and we will be doing a Christmas tree hunt as often as we can in the future.
