Dear friends and family,
If you haven't been keeping up through past blog posts, 2011 has been quite an eventful year for the Draper family! Adventurous and, at times, stagnant. Joyful and sorrowful. It has been a year full of ambition and the unknown. But it was a year spent with family and friends, which is why we are so blessed to be where we are now.
The following should catch you up to speed:
Our year began with us returning home from China because we felt a strong, unexpected prompting to return to the U.S. immediately to be with and support family in Libby, MT. While there, Robert was able to find some some work for someone in the ward there, but nothing permanent. A month later was the passing away of Don Evans. Not long after that we followed another prompting telling us to go to Shelley, ID to be with friends. (No one specific...that would have made things easy!) Robert was able to find a steady job and we found a decent apartment for a decent price to live in til we are prompted otherwise. A few months later Jasmin was born and Kenya became a big sister! It has been so much fun being parents of two ridiculously, cute girls! We've been living in Shelley still wondering why we were sent here. However, we know that this is where we should be for now. We have already been in 2 different wards in Shelley, thus helping us meet half the population of the town just by going to 2 church buildings;) We've reunited with many past friends and have made many new friends as well.
We reflect on so many blessings we've received this year through faithful prayer and obedience, but I think it is just as important to realize how much of a blessing you can be in others' lives. There are many times that we should not be so worried about building our mansions in Heaven, but rather help others to build theirs. You never know...but they just might invite you over for helping!
